LOL.
Why doesn't he just be specific, and say it's about his (former) boss?
Coward.

Maybe he's trying to be courteous.

Tillerson was one of my favorite Trump cabinet members, but that's not saying much.

Yeah, I have little sympathy for him. He knew what he was getting into and he played his role as his masters wanted.

The State Department needed a good clearing out. It was stocked with all the same people who failed in Iraq and Afghanistan. I think Tillerson giving the State Department a good purge was necessary

Basically did enough damage that could take a generation to repair if not more.

No, it was not.

There is alot of people there who had nothing to do with Iraq and were competent and now are going to be replaced with a bunch of stupid Trump hacks.

I doubt it. Trump has barely filled any seats a year into his presidency and nobody wants to work for him anyway. Frankly, the State Department was full of people who had made a career out of being wrong over and over or just plain having the wrong philosophy on what America's role in the world should be. Experience is overrated if it's the wrong kid of experience.

The way I look at it...Trump is just purging driftwood from government agencies so they can be stocked with fresh new faces with new ideas and philosophies once a Democrat wins in 2020.

You've fallen for DoD's greatest tricks: when things go well, take credit, when things fail, blame State. Most in State advised against the Iraq War and it was only though the connections created through State that the US' reputation did not suffer more for it. A competent diplomatic corps is not optional if you really want to prevent war, and diplomacy is not an area where paradigm shift beats out experience - you'd be surprised how much of modern diplomacy is still predicated on personal relationships between national counterparts, and in on-the-ground experience as to how other countries' systems operate in practice (not in theory).
