Kingpoleon during his announcement speech

“My fellow Northerners, we have seen time after time the boring, inefficient governance of this duopoly system. This is a system rigged against everybody for the simple sake of incompetence. On a regional level, we need massive reform on healthcare, education, taxes, and welfare issues. We need a strong, robust economy and reformed corporate taxes. We need a balanced budget supported by a value-added tax. We need change and ideas.

“On taxes, we can instate an eleven percent value-added tax that will allow us to reform income and corporate taxes, as well as welfare spending. We need to guarantee a progressive welfare system offering up to $10,000 in food and rent vouchers, with a flexible and healthy food option on the vouchers that limits 8:1 spending on the healthy food approved amounts to unhealthy foods and drinks, as well as similar vouchers for clothes and other basic needs.

“For those making under $10,000, we will provide ninety-five cents for every dollar they need, or up to $9,500, to get to $10,000. For those making under $20,000 but over $10,000, we will provide eighty cents, or up to $8,000, to give them the money for up to $20,000. If the federal government sees this working, they can implement this on a federal level and we will reduce our cost to supplementary to account for cost of living difference. There will also be a $900-$1800 child tax credit for vouchers for the child.

“On healthcare, we will instate a broad plan with the Chamber of Commerce. Hospitals and insurance providers that agree to our plan will receive an approval and ten percent tax reduction. This plan will have bronze(annual check-ups, catastrophic coverage - $900-$1800 annually), silver, gold, and platinum plans, with each going into detail for higher levels of care. Vouchers may be offered, but there will usually be a minimum deductible of ten dollars for check-ups and recommended screenings, a minimum deductible of twenty-two dollars for emergency room visits that are not life-threatening, and a minimum deductible of eighty dollars for catastrophic coverage, most of which will be higher for most people. This will be at least partially subsidized by our government and tightly regulated.

“These are some of my more basic plans, and this system will be paid for by raising the amount of revenue we make with corporate and income tax reform, as well as the aforementioned eleven percent value-added tax. My economic regulation commission will do a regular report on the progress of their regulation reform after one month, and I also expect a similar report from our regional security forces.

“My fellow Northerners, it is time for an old hand with fresh ideas. I urge all of you to support challenges to the status quo, to support change, and to support my bold and fresh ideas. If you have comments or other ideas, please suggest them and I will take them into account.”

General platform:
- Replace grade classes for the most part with vocational, social skills, and cooperative classes, with half of all classes still being refresher courses for middle school math and advancement in writing skills(history classes still mandatory, most people don’t retain many math skills beyond middle school within 5-10 years)
- Make standardized tests bi-annually(once in December, once in May)
- Fund college education for all who score a 24 or higher on the ACT and have a GPA >3.0
- Value-Added Tax: 11.0%
- Healthcare Insurance regulations and recommendations board - five nurses, three doctors, three insurance specialists, two healthcare advocates, two professors(one specialist in healthcare, one specialist in health insurance)
- Corporate taxes: 10%/20%/32.5%
- Income taxes: 10%/15%/20%/30%(Unsure about this one; I need to check current taxes, which I can’t find)
- Create Lincoln Board of Education and appoint NPCs(I. E. Shavar Jeffries, Amy Gutmann, Ron Huberman, Michael L. Williams, etc.)

1. Are you advocating the nationalization of the SAT and ACT?

2. I don't know if I agree with basically axing math from the curriculum, especially as STEM becomes bigger and bigger and more "traditional" vocations shrink. I actually think that we should, if anything, be focusing on teaching math, as well as adding CS (which may soon be the most important "vocational skill" of all) to the mandatory curriculum.

2b. Also, how do you plan on including science curriculum without math curriculum? For instance, it's almost impossible to do any physics without trigonometry.

3. Why only the ACT and not the SAT?

4. Why are you advocating nullifying the work done by those who work hard for near-perfect test scores and 4.0 GPAs by making their achievements worthless?

The SAT may be taken into account as well. A platform is obviously going to consist of certain processes with vague wording because not everybody wants to read the full text of legislation.

Again, we need to specialize education. In most states, physics is not a required course, and in many, neither is trigonometry. If a student prefers to specialize in history and vocational classes, maybe they don’t  need to learn pre-calculus. If a student prefers to specialize in mathematics and physics, maybe they drop history or vocational or grammar classes. In order to specialize, and move on from it, they would need to take an annual test on it to make sure they stayed up-to-date on what they had learned with a couple of weeks of refresher before the test.

This process will ready students for work without requiring a gap year or college education. We can’t afford to have subpar and generic standards without flexibility in education. If we continue our subpar high school education without specialization, we will see more students go to college, tuition continue to rise, student debt build up, and an economy dependent upon college education and debts accrued. Education is all about a centralized authority with localized change that allows for specific circumstances.

We need to have a debate in this great region of ours - one of ideas, one of reform. If we want another term for the duopoly, then we need to see a fair and open discussion on it.

I see a clear and desperate need for a strong leader, as uncertainty continues to govern our land. Attention! We have seen a consistent failure throughout Atlasia to address an obvious and growing problem. Everyone feels it and is affected by it. Everyone is pulled back by this great and growing problem, and yet from the very top to the very bottom of our society, no one will admit it. I will! We are bored and apathetic. No one is enthusiastic or excited.

Who is to blame for this?! You will demand an answer. The truth is, I could blame some other person. The Labor Party, the Federalists, a President, a politician. But if you want to know the truth, I’ll speak it plainly and clearly. If you wish to see the guilty man, you need only look in the mirror. We are at fault. We cannot blame one another. We must, each and individually, accept that we have failed Atlasia.

We have failed to provide excitement. We have failed to provide intrigue. We have failed to offer anything except the same old, same old. I don’t wish to bring our Republic to destruction for its own sake, but if I must choose between the Republic’s existence and Atlasia’s soul: that is no choice. We must rise above ourselves and our petty beliefs in the status quo. We must begin to make the game not a better world, but a more exciting one.

There is no greater threat to Atlasia than Apathy, than Boredom, than Caution. The time for the ABCs of the past is over. We must build up enthusiasm, excitement, and emotions. If we want Atlasia to succeed, we must have a commitment that is not just intellectual but also emotional. Instead of policies that affect one another and ourselves in this world, we govern over NPCs with policies that have a macro-societal impact from a micro-societal scale. Instead, we must be more involved in this game of ours.

I will not lie to you. I believe that for now, those who think like this are in the minority. But eventually, everyone will realize that a game that bores everyone will eventually die. If not in actuality, then in spirit. It is for the heart and soul of Lincoln and Atlasia that I will fight this battle. I am not assured that we will win this battle, but I am assured that we must fight this battle.

“My fellow Atlasians, we face a deadly crisis. There are people who want ‘business as usual.’ And what does that mean for most of you? A few interesting laws passed? An election or two held? Names change and policies remain constant! This is not fun - this does not breed excitement. No, this brings the affliction of apathy, the burden of boredom, and the crisis of caution!

“Believe me, if you want to pass a few minor laws and to carry on with everyday business, then I encourage you to vote for my opponent. If you like the status quo, then I am not your candidate. But if you feel as I feel; if you think as I think; if you see what I see: if you feel change is needed, vote for me. If you think business as usual must end, vote for me. If you see the crippling apathy that I see, vote for me.

“In short, vote for me so we can see a strong, bold Governor who will govern with your best interests at heart. Vote for me so we can feel that those without a voice for so long now do speak the loudest! Vote for me so that thought is matched by deed, and so that change can sweep over Lincoln.

E Pluribus Unum: Out of many, one. Out of us - out of you and your neighbor and out of me - can come one spark. We can be the spark that sets Lincoln ablaze. Let us light Lincoln on fire, so that all of Atlasia will then burn with us. You are that spark and we will be that fire. So let’s get out there and set this country on fire!”
