LINCOLN REGION

OFFICIAL BALLOT

PLEASE READ THE BALLOT CAREFULLY!
YOU DO NOT NEED TO RUSH!

1. This election will last for exactly 72 hours beginning at 12:00:00 AM (Eastern Standard Time) on Friday, April 20 and ending at 12:00:00 AM on Monday, April 23. All ballots cast outside of this period will be counted invalid.

2. You are eligible to vote in this election if you (a) have registered with the federal Census Bureau as a voter of one of the states of this Region; (b) have not had your voting rights stripped as the result of deregistration or court order; and (c) meet all other requirements set forth in Article V of the Constitution of Lincoln.

3. When voting for Senate, please rank the candidates that appear on the ballot in order of preference, with "1" indicating your first choice, "2" your second choice, etc. You may rank all, some, or none of the candidates on your ballot. If you wish to vote for a candidate whose name does not appear on the ballot, you may do so by writing his or her name in the blank provided.

This is a great initiative to inform the public on upcoming events and deadlines. Well done.

Is someone aware if there is a minimum residency in the region to serve in the assembly or be on the ballot? I don't remember if this was legislated post reset.

The minimum residency period in the region to vote in an election is 7 days before the election according to the constitution on the wiki.

To answer your question, I haven't found a rule regarding that other than of course applying to Presidential elections, so on the safe side I apply that rule for the regional elections as well. But it is a good point to bring up.

I see are four people in the region who posted in the new register thread after April 12th, the deadline to be an eligible voter in the region. Ninja, YoungTexan, MB and Clyde.

Looking at the previous pages, Ninja and Clyde were already in the region. That leaves the other two to verify if they are eligble to vote in the region this weekend.

Edit: I also found a YoungTexan post back in February being registered in the region.

YoungTexan is confirmed to have been in the region before the 12th. MB, on the other hand, won’t be able to vote since he switched to Lincoln from Fremont too late, but he will still be left on the ballot.

Alright everyone, the polls have now officially opened in Lincoln and all other regions along with the federal election. Please make sure that before you vote, you meet the qualifications to vote and please don't edit your ballot after the 20 minute mark or else your ballot will be disqualified.

That's pretty much all I need to say, so have a great day everyone and a happy 4/20.

The minimum residency period in the region to vote in an election is 7 days before the election according to the constitution on the wiki.

The Lincoln Constitution states:
The Assembly shall be composed of a number of delegates elected every second month by the entire body of eligible voters. No person shall be a delegate who is not a registered voter of this Region.

The question then becomes whether someone who just moved to the region is a registered voter. He or she certainly isn't an eligible voter. I'm not sure whether they're considered registered voters of Lincoln as of the date of the move or as of the eligible voter date for federal purposes, which is probably what governs.
