What happens now that the filing deadline has passed?
His primary opponent becomes the de facto Republican nominee?

Is there a listing somewhere of all the candidates who filed? I checked the TX SoS website and all they have is: "2018 Primary Election Candidate Listing (Coming Soon)."

http://www.politics1.com/tx.htm

ballotpedia also has a paqe for every state's deadlines too:

Looks like Bech Bruun is being treated as the party favorite for the GOP nomination. Probably because everybody else running are a bunch of randos.

Did his (?) parents name him after a Danish law firm on purpose?

One of the other candidates used to be chair of the Victoria County GOP so seems not a total nobody. The others are definite nobodies.

Republicans running for TX-27:
Bech Bruun
Michael McCloud
Eddie Gassman
John Grunwald
Jerry Hall
Chris Mapp

Democrats running:
Raul "Roy" Barrera
Vanessa Edwards Foster
Eric Holguin
Ronnie McDonald

And elsewhere in TX, the number of Democrats running for TX-32 shrank from eleven to seven candidates. As I pointed out above, the number of Republicans who are running for TX-21 is a whopping eighteen. There are ten Democrats running for Governor.
