Now that Flake has resigned and entering the race would no longer incur the wrath of the GOP establishment, I can't see why a high profile republican like Trent Franks or Paul Gosar hasn't decided to challenge Ward (who is after all only a state senator) for the US Senate seat. Aside from McSally, who is running, they're all strong enough on immigration and other key issues that Ward would have little ammo to attack them with. Perhaps they think they'd split conservatives with Ward and McSally would win.

Admittedly, the democrats have their top recruit in Sinema, but Ward is polling almost even with her and she has more baggage, less money, and probably less name recognition than they do. It seems like an obvious move. Are they just risk averse, so they'd take a safe seat in the House over a decent shot at the Senate?

Our GOP delegation is pretty happy with where they are at, with the exception of McSally. I have found interest in how the entire Delegation hasn't said they would endorse Mcsally, but they have said they would Back Matt Salmon(no longer a congressman but still should be discussed).

I think they are happy where they are or have other plans i.e Schweikert wants to run for governor in 2022.
