Republicans now hate the Bush’s.

Some pretend they never liked them.  By the end of W’s time in office many had abandoned him, only to post “miss me yet?” pics on their social media and whatnot when Obama was in office. And then to go back to hating the Bush’s again when Trump was badmouthing the family so bad in 2016.

Since the current GOP electorate is so finicky, I imagine that once this disaster of a presidency is over, many of them will treat their current god much the same way they currently treat Dubya and his father.

Bush 41 is still mad that Trump tore Jeb to the shreds while calling out Dubya for being terrible with the Iraq war. It's a family vendetta, just like when Dubya complained about Saddam trying to kill his daddy.

This.

The Bush Family has always been as cutthroat as it has to be, while being discreet and appearing genteel.  When I made the comment of how Americans have been screwed over royally by folks with good manners and clean language, the Bushes were who came to mind first.

This.  Even Poppy, who's been so praised, ran a gutter, sleazy, race-baiting campaign in 1988.  That and if you actually watch what he sounded like when he was President, he came off as so nasty.
