So John Delaney has already jumped in, who will be the next and when?
I'm inclined to think Warren sometime around February.

I doubt Warren will announce her run before her reelection in 2018. The next one to declare will probably be another small fry like John Delaney.

I'm going to say March 2018, and it won't be someone up for re-election that year. Still absurdly early, but hey, Delaney has broken the seal already. Only a matter of time before the floodgates fully open for the rest of them.

Probably the first group of announcements will be folks who currently hold no political office, like O'Malley and Castro.  Or someone who's retiring from their current office in 2018, like Delaney, but not sure who else would be in that latter category.  I guess McAuliffe's out of office as early as January 2018.

O'Malley's a great call. Why hasn't he announced yet? He's running, he has no day job. Just do it, man.

He's got 0 percent chances to be president, and next to 0 for vp, but I'd say there is a decent chance he could get some sort of mid level job in a democratic administration if we win in 2020. Some undersecretary, or justice dep official. Sam goes for Delaney. They may not be the coolest dudes in the block, but they could still work well in mid level administration position.

There's also the "What does it mean to announce that you're running?" question.  Does an exploratory committee count?  Though exploratory committees seem to be going out of fashion, as more candidates are now using PACs to serve the function of exploratory committees.  And of course, almost all of the prospective 2020 candidates already have PACs.
