Strongly disagree.

If the U.S. changed to communism, would you still support it, States?  Come now.

If I had been born in those nations and hadn't known any better..more then likely, yes absolutely.

I don't see how you would have believed that the genocide of millions was okay.  The reason those people in those countries backed Hitler and Stalin was out of fear for their lives, and not because they felt the communists and Nazis were doing the right things.

Most people did not know about the Holocaust. That was a very very secretive program (The Final Solution).

If you personally were aware of the Holocaust, would you have continued to support your country?

I see where you're going but there's no way really to answer this question with 'agree' unless you believe supporting a country is more important that preserving sane policies.

You must remember that you CAN support your country while trying to change it.

Now your questioning the meaning of the question...

If you were living in Nazi Germany in the 1940s, and you knew of the Holocaust, would you have supported the liberation of Germany by US and british forces?

Now, if you answer yes, you are going against your country, and not supporting it.

Disagree, and this is one of the stupidest questions on the test.  Why would you support something if you knew it was wrong? Roll Eyes

Crazy Republicans like Jake do.

I think the main problem is that this question does not differentiate between one's country and the rulers of one's country, and it really should.

I think you're all missing the point.  But then we're all entitled to our opinions, I suppose.

What good does it do to stop paying taxes because the government decides to send troops overseas, for example?  Because George Bush pisses you off you will deny some poor hungry child milk and diapers?

I will support my country whether or not I agree with its policies.  Of course, if I disagree, I also will work to change its government's officers via the democratic process.

I voted agree.

I wouldn't 'support' it even if I agreed with it.
