Who are those in the "media" (or at least CNN/MSNBC- which have the most influence regarding dem voters) pulling for to get the nomination? (if you had to pick a general consensus- obviously some have differing opinions).

My take so far- regarding the general coverage from at least CNN/ MSNBC....

At first there seemed to be a strong Kamala sentiment in coverage- but she has somewhat underperformed thus far regarding gaining support in the polls- and I think many doubt her chances- despite originally thinking she would be in the top 2-3 at this point.

Many seem to like Pete- but I get the sense they don't consider him to have a realistic chance.

Most seem to be ok with Biden- but would prefer someone else.

Most seem to definitely not want Beto- although the Beto trashing as subsided a bit since his slip in the polls.

Most do not think Booker has any chance at all (not even for a late stage comeback).

Most do not want Bernie- but are at least more neutral in their coverage (compared to 2016).  And I get the sense that they don't think he will be the nominee.

So for now, it seems that overall, their choice would be Warren (with Kamala/ Pete getting the next most positive coverage).

I have no clue who they would pick if they had to choose between: Biden, Sanders, Beto, Booker (maybe Biden?)

Not sure about the media in general but MSNBC seems to be favoring Warren lately, at least from what I can tell.

It is useful to remember two things:

1. "Media" of the major network type, is in the end profit driven with a bad habit of repetition of a narrative. Aka, if they're getting the viewership, they will be actively lazy and not shift focus unless prompted too by events.

2. A candidate who is therefore able to prompt that change of focus will command their attention more readily. Therefore someone who is able to make a sufficient splash just in general will get their attention well beyond the initiating cause if the competition is not doing such. This allows such a candidate to hold back until attention is off them to make the next big news event and generally play the media well. This is exactly what Trump does by the way, so don't be surprised one or several Dems have figured it out too.

The confluence of these two things will result in media coverage (ideally good but not necessarily) of a particular candidate over the rest of the field. This may seem then like the media is 'pulling' for them as they appear to be giving a lot of free press when it is just an exploitation of their own bad habits and laziness.

They don't care as long as there's drama and scandal, so they're probably rooting for some matchup like Gabbard vs. Biden.

They're ridin' w/ Biden.

Biden's mouth provides the drama and ratings, but he also doesn't seriously threaten the status-quo, that's a win-win from that standpoint.

They seem to be the most complimentary towards Biden and Buttigieg so far. I would argue that they were integral in propping them both up. They'll turn on them in the general election if they get to it though, as always.

Social media is pulling for Warren and Harris.

Beltway media is behind Mayor Pete and Biden.

I don’t want to be “that guy” that whines the media hates my candidate because I loathe the way Republicans blame every short coming they have on the “o’Yu know That FAKE NEWS LAMESTREAM GOTCHA’ MEDIA!”

.... but they’re doing everything they can to bring down Biden and Warren seems to be the favorite darling of the left wing talking heads in the same way Ted Cruz was originally the darling of the right wing talking heads in 2015.,

Well, you have to remember progressive media is made up of white, college educated liberals. That is Warren's base. Anyway, it is a good example of why we need more diversity in the media.

I think we'll have a better idea of the MSM's nominee after the Adult's Table Debate on Thursday, but I'm predicting the MSM jumps on, and thus corproatizes and corrupts the Warren bandwagon.

No, your right I believe this too. Any democrats president would not garner the amount of media attention as Trump. At the end of the day, they're still companies and they are pulling for whoever makes them the most money and that's Trump.

In the primary, Biden or Buttigieg. In the general, probably Trump, simply because they want an ugly, competitive race for the sake of ratings.
