Confirmation Hearing: Sam Spade (Game Moderator)

I call to order the confirmation hearing for Game Moderator nominee Sam Spade.

May I express to the Senate my complete support for the Honorable Senator Spade's nomination? His exemplary service to this body, and to the Republic of Atlasia, certainly merits him confirmation.

(Note: I think that the GM spot requires Senate confirmation, but I can't find anything in the Constitution about it, so I could be wrong.)

IIRC, according to precedent I've never seen a GM nominee be confirmed by the Cabinet (because I don't think it's a government office technically).

Ah, I see. The President seemed to indicate that "approval" was necessary, so I took that to mean Senate approval.
