Huckabee vs. Clinton 2008

What if Hillary Clinton ran against Mike Huckabee in 2008 instead of Obama vs. McCain?  I think several developments would occur.  People talked about Clinton's strength in Appalachia but that would be negated against Huckabee due to his evangelical appeal and for him also being from Arkansas.  Huckabee also received 48 percent of the black vote in Arkansas in 2002 (this exit poll figure is debated, but even low estimates show him in the high 20s/low 30s, very high for a republican).  With Obama not on the ticket and many black voters feeling bitter about him losing a narrow election, combined with Clinton's crime bill support, could Huckabee do much better among black voters than a traditional republican en route to a closer election than 2008 in our timeline?
