Asking since Bitcoin has been having a pretty crazy time recently, and I'm curious if any of our posters is experiencing it firsthand.

No for me.

I've received monies on it before and traded a little bit, but it's overly complicated to work with, inherently unstable and quite frankly I consider the whole idea of trading currencies/stock gambling, and I don't like gambling.

Also fwiw, China is basically ending bitcoin exchanges/use in their country, and recent actions I believe caused some major downturns in its value after a steep rise over the 6-12 months. Probably not the best time to get involved.

I'm the only person? Huh. I made about ten grand on bitcoin during the 2013 boom, and another ten grand this year (with potentially more), but that's been dwarfed by my Intrade/PredictIt losses on people like Sarah Palin and Bernie Sanders, which I'm sure a certain subset of folks here will find amusing.

Come to think of it, my interest in politics has cost me quite a bit of money. When I first started it, about 20 years ago, it was uncool for kids my age to be into politics, and I was a huge loner. Now it seems like everyone is obsessed with it to an unhealthy degree. For the most part, it's just made me anxious and depressed. There was only one era which I felt things were ok - not great, but okay, which I'd learned to appreciate - which was from Obama re-election until the end of the summer of 2014. Other than that, things have really been crap, which most Americans have always agreed with me on, if polls indicating whether the country has been "going in the right direction" are to be believed; although I'm sure most people have different reasons for that. I've been a poster on here way longer than 99% of folks... people have come and gone, the things I've cared about have generally lost. And that's okay - at this point, I just want to be left alone and live my life. So maybe less interest in politics from me would be a good thing. Sorry for the digression.

I once bought something on ebay and needed to return it, but the seller refunded me in bitcoin a couple months ago, so I guess
