BIDEN ANNOUNCES RUN
Delaware Senator Joe Biden declares run for Democratic presidential nominee


Joe Biden the young 44 year old young star and leader of the Senate Judaical Committee has said he will  run for President of the United States for the Democratic nomination

Biden had previously been thought of as a Vice Presidential candidate back in 1984 for Walter Mondale's unsuccessful campaign and had received attention about it last year after Secretary of State George Shultz mention him during a senate meeting about South Africa.

In his speech behind a train station in Wilmington Delaware Biden called on his experience and the future of America as well in recalling John F Kennedy in saying " For too long in this society, we have celebrated unrestrained individualism over common community. For too long as a nation, we have been lulled by the anthem of self-interest. For a decade, led by Ronald Reagan, self-aggrandizement has been the full-throated cry of this society: 'I've got mine so why don't you get yours' and 'What's in it for me?' ... We must rekindle the fire of idealism in our society, for nothing suffocates the promise of America more than unbounded cynicism and indifference"

Biden talked about his campaign pledges such as  a middle stance between protectionism and free trade, opposition to the Reagan Strategic Defense Initiative, and support for child welfare, reduction of poverty, and the war against illegal drugs. Biden also called on integrity in our government.

There's a timeline on alternatehistory.com with the exact same title that also has a successful Biden run in 1988.
