On Thursday, former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden will launch a new political action committee (PAC), American Possibilities, giving him a way to support Democratic political candidates while keeping his own options open for a potential 2020 presidential run. Officially, the group will be “dedicated to electing people who believe that this country is about dreaming big, and supporting groups and causes that embody that spirit,” according to the PAC’s launch materials. Biden has hired Greg Schultz, his political director during his second term as vice president, as the executive director of the PAC.

He’s made clear in private, and to an extent in public, how disappointing he found Hillary Clinton’s campaign, and his problems with her as a messenger of the Democratic Party.

Former Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday will launch a new political action committee, signaling he intends to remain involved in Democratic politics -- and fueling speculation that he may make a presidential bid in 2020. According to documents obtained by CBS News' Steve Chaggaris. AmericanPossibilities.org will go live at 9 a.m. Thursday.

Sorry but he's too old to run. By that time he'll be pushing 80. Besides, I don't know what makes him think he'd do any better than Hillary.

We need fresh blood to run in 2020.

The possibility of Joe Biden biding his time on whether to run.

Biden looks fit & has every right to make his case. He will probably be a poor candidate but this whole age thing & trying to condemn people for even contemplating a run is kinda sad. Let there be a competitive primary. Everyone has the right to fight in a primary, don't get the hatred. Don't like him, fine - Don't support him. No need to shi* on someone for running ! Even O'Malley & Carson ran !

The plurality of Democrats who want the Party to move leftwards away from the Third Way style of thinking. Source.

He will be 78 not 80, why do people keep modifying the age to make a bigger statement. Sure, he is 80, too old for you, don't support. But why shi* on him for running? He is not a senile man, he is not physically inept - He is healthy! Oppose him but let the poor guy run a campaign & debate !

I'm guessing you're not a fan of my proposed Carter/Mondale 2020 ticket, then.

If Biden is still healthy, I don't have a problem seeing him as a candidate.
He can take trump (if he runs again) easily in 2020.
Even if he decides to just serve one term as President.

Love Joe and I think he would do a great job, but I think this would be too lazy of an option for Democrats. Cmon guys, trump changed the game, we have to change the game again to something much better.

Except for the "love Joe" part (I never liked him much), I agree that we have to change the game to something much better. That includes fresher and younger. Someone like Obama, with charisma and vitality, and MORALS, and compassion.

Why are we talking about the DLC? It hasn't existed for six years and hasn't been truly relevant for over a decade.

He had his chances, and he didn't take it.
