Indian Nationalism

I actually like Modi, but I've met several and seen many more Indian nationalists on the internet who believe all sorts of nonsensical falsehoods about the history of their country. For example, so many Indian nationalists believe that Indo Europeans came from India rather than invading it. Or they credit many inventions/ discoveries to ancient Indians when it was in fact Chinese or western.

Allow me a preface: India is far better than China, Pakistan, Iran, and Turkey.

That said, Modi is not the kind of leader needed in India right now. They need a strong, uniting figure who can reach beyond lingual, geographical, economic, social, and religious divides. I should also say most forms of socialism are worse than Modi's ideology of Indian nationalism, but Sonia Gandhi isn't bad for a "socialist".

Depends on what you mean by nationalism . Modi nationalism is more like Reagan's nationalism which we know worked for America.

But any nationalism(which there is in India) which is like Le Pen nationalism is a MASSIVE HP.

It comes down to this :

Indo-Europeans were from Central Asia and northern Caucasus region (basically north of the Caspian/Black Seas and east of the Caspian Sea), then split with some heading to India, some heading to Europe, and I think some heading to Iran. I recently took DNA tests and they showed my patrilineal line traces back to the Indo-Europeans.
