Not good for Virginia Republicans if Prince William County and similar areas start voting down ballot like it does up ballot.

If we continue to see similar amounts of energy/displeasure with Republicans in 2019, the State Senate is likely going to Democrats. They were close to tying the chamber in 2015, and under Trump presents the perfect opportunity to snatch up a clear majority. I'd be willing to bet the only thing Virginia Republicans control come Jan 2020 is the House of Delegates, and with a much smaller majority.

Hopefully this is a good sign that our favorite Assad-loving State Senator, Dick Black, can be taken out in 2019. His district includes parts of Prince William and Loudoun.

If I had to predict, I think Republicans could go into the next House session with only a ~10 seat majority.

I wouldn't read too much into this one election, I think the gubernatorial race will be more telling. That being said, VA is definitely a solid Democratic state at the presidential and Senate level. I don't see it voting Republican in my lifetime anymore.

I could see it vote for an actual or even rhetorically moderate pub against an unpopular sandersesque democrat
