For their actions as president:

Wilson in 1919- Same Reason as OTL
FDR   in 1945(Poshumously)- For his actions in winning ww2 and setting a post war world of cooperation
Ronald Reagan in 1990- For his role as president in leading to the iron curtain falling
George HW Bush in 1991- For his role in handling the end of the cold war peacefully , and ending the war in the gulf

For their actions before they became president :

Herbert Hoover in 1918: For his extraordinary work for the relief program in Europe
Dwight Eisenhower- 1945: For his actions in Liberating Western Europe



For their actions after they left office:


Jimmy Carter 2002- Same reason as OTL

SINCE the peace prize is established by Alfred Nobel“s will, perhaps the ideas he had in mind should count in this discussion? Those who are interested in knowing the original and visionary peace plan of Nobel - "What Nobel really intended" - can find information on nobelwill.org. And a clear answer to this debate. Carter, for his role in the Camp David accords? Maybe TR for his helping resolve the Russo-Japanese war, though I doubt it.

Just to clarify my position a bit, saying that none of them deserve the prize isn't meant to be an attack on any President's character or policies. It mostly has to with the fact that they are, you know, Commander-in-Chief of the United States Military, a potion I consider to be inherently non-peaceful, and in fact I would say that a literal pacifist definitely should not be President of the United States.

I find it interesting that many people here are using FDR, a President who was obviously very militaristic, and Eisenhower, a WWII general, as examples of people that deserve the prize. Clearly most people look at this differently from me...
