Mods, feel free to change the title, just a little pissed off right now.

I just learned that one of my 18 year old friends got scammed out of his vote. Apparently he registered and voted online (through Tumblr) without knowing any better. As far as I (or the people down at the Buncombe County Board of Elections Office) know, that is not a thing in North Carolina. You can vote by mail through an absentee ballot, you can vote in person anywhere in the county through one stop early voting, and you can vote in person on November 8th. You cannot vote online.

Anyway, big thanks to those internet trolls scamming a kid out of his first vote. Good job fellas! The less people that vote the better!

Just to make sure that I'm not wrong, I plan on looking him up in the NC public voter database once that get updated with voting info for the General Election. I'll give an update then.

The one who can't figure out how to vote, will probably not be bright enough to know whom to vote...

Thanks for that great analysis, very helpful. Again, let me remind you that he was scammed out of his vote. I think he would have voted in person, but since he thought he could vote online, and that was easier, he did it.

But yeah, I'll be sure to tell him he's a dimwitted idiot.

No one has online voting (yet), and I'm pretty sure online voter registration is not a thing yet either at least most states.

A quick googling found me this: https://vote.gov/register/nc/

Sorry, but just a little research before doing anything online is prudent.

He voted through tumblr? Yeah I don't think any more analysis is needed than what I quoted.

Leaves you about 177,529 votes still short. This state didn't even end up being that close compared to many others. MI, PA & WI were all much closer than NC, Trump won that state relatively easy.
