See the movie "Recount" with Kevin Spacey (although Republicans probably don't like the fact that it was  primarily more sympathetic to Democrats) if you want to know more about the 2000 fight. It is mostly about what happened after election day. I agree that we don't want to go through anything like that again. The election could be a lot closer than most Democrats think, but I think that the clock has run out for Trump and I don't think that he will get more than 268 electoral votes, although he may make a fuss if the election is really close.. it's hard to predict what he might do.

Well, Trump isn't going to shoot Russian planes out of the sky and start the international incident that he apparently doesn't have the temper to handle to begin with.
