If Ross doesn't make it into the Senate, which seems exceedingly likely, could she make it into the House? It looks like she lives in NC-04, which is pretty friendly (D+17), though Rep. Price would need to retire. If it isn't the 4th, it's NC-13, which is significantly less friendly (R+9).

Anyone know how redistricting could change all this?

No way will she win an R+9 district if she loses statewide in a state that's only R+2. Anyway, IIRC the 13th district was moved outside Raleigh and into the Greensboro/Winston Salem area. If Ross doesn't live in the 4th, then I think it would be the 2nd (Holding's R-friendly district) where her home is. But remember, you don't have to live in the district to run for the House, just the state.

Brad Miller probably has the right of first refusal for NC-04.

Sounds plausible to me, though I'd much rather have Chris Rey run for Price's seat when it opens up.

The district doesn't go into Cumberland County anymore.

I like Ross so I hope her career continues even if she loses.

Anything you know that we don't?

I think it's a tossup, FWIW.

Oh, met too, brother. Me too. Maybe some local office before he swings for the House again...

I wouldn't be so sure - Remember that Thom Tillis trailed in the polls before his surprise win in 2014.

Yeah, is there? I'm hopeful, but in no way confident.

I see her losing narrowly by 2% odd. I don't see her going the GOP. It will be awesome to have a strong progressive block in Sanders, Warren, Feingold, Brown, Merkley, Ross in the Senate! I can see this strong block influencing the policy for years.

I would love to see Ross run here in NC-4 once Price retires. She may be too liberal for the state, but would be absolutely fine for NC-4. I know Brad Miller's sister, who said that Miller has no plans to run in the 4th despite the rumor.

I don't understand why you'd group Ross with the others you mentioned. I assumed that she was a fairly standard centrist Democrat?

She's a liberal, having led the NC-ACLU and represented a safe Dem state House seat. If she wins, I don't know if she would move to the center to represent NC/get reelected.
