And yet they conveniently forgot to report the donation to Pam Bondi (in fact making it a donation to Justice For All instead). Odd.

Trump is far more corrupt and in fact downright criminal...Yet, all we hear in the media is what a liar clinton is and about her damn emails.

It pisses me off.

where is the wall to wall coverage of THE TRUMP FOUNDATION.

There is actual horrible behavior behind the Trump foundation but it's not nearly as reported as THEIR COULD BE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF THE POSSIBILITY OF CORRUPTION AT THE CLINTON FOUNDATION MMM MMM MMM.

Atlas and DailyKos are the only places that seem to care about this.

Why? I believe when someone does something wrong they should be held accountable. Trump needs to be held accountable.

Generally that means it means nothing.

Well the Pam Bondi stuff started with a WashPost report, which was later picked up by several other groups. This is a relatively new development.

Make this the only thing you hear about Trump + corruption for 16 years and I'm sure everyone will care too.

It seems like there are quite a lot of other explanations for this besides Trump's corruption.  It's a large organization and large time period, and it may well be possible that things like this get screwed up for totally innocent reasons.  Even if the reasons aren't innocent, isn't it perfectly plausible (even probable) that Trump didn't directly and knowingly order or allow the bad behavior?

FWIW, my attitude toward the Clinton Foundation stuff is about the same.

here's the problem with that theory - The Trump Foundation isn't particularly big. It's quite literally a shell. Here's an article that indicts the Trump foundation in more detail.

But Clinton is fully responsible for the Clinton Foundation and thus knew everything that was going on. So a double standard, so might as well claim what the Trumpers are claiming.

I actually paused before the first "large," and should have scrapped it.  However, I didn't realize they had no full-time employees.  That definitely isn't "large." Tongue

Still, I think there are plenty of viable hypotheses besides Trump personally allowing/ordering bad behavior.  Having seen the guts of plenty of political campaigns -- often not remarkably larger operations than the Trump Foundation -- I've seen a lot of ways finances can be innocently messed up in ways that end up being falsely blamed on the candidate.  This seems like a similar case.  It wouldn't surprise me if Trump (rightly or wrongly) had basically 0% oversight role in the org's finances.

Help me understand WaPo's investigation here.  Let me see if I have this right...

WaPo calls 200+ groups.  Five say, "I don't remember a donation from Trump."

Okay.  How did WaPo confirm these weren't:
a) faulty memories
b) purged records
c) charity policy to never release information on donors

"C" is very common among charities.  Not defending Trump here on this huge $26,000 scandal, but I honestly want to understand WaPo's method of due diligence here.

I doubt they would have responded that the filing appears wrong, and they never received anything, if C were the case.

Atlas and DailyKos in the same sentence. Not shocked. This "deplorable" is laughing at the red avatars' lame attempt for a "Trump Foundation did it, too" meme.

Wake me when there's evidence that foreign governments that kill gays and force women to wear burkas gave money to the Trump Foundation. Or when Trump made paid speeches in return for influence after his wife became SoS.
