They have pretty high incomes, but low levels of educational attainment. Feel threatened by trade deals and immigrants, but work in industries pretty shielded from international competition and live in overwhelmingly white communities with few immigrants. These communities fare poorly on a lot of indicators like health and have low levels of social mobility.

Looks like he has the Homer Simpson vote.

This pretty much means Trump is guaranteed to lose Orange County

Springfield is pretty diverse, you got Karl and Apu and Bumblebee Man.  Arlen, TX may fit this study more. So maybe more of the Hank Hill (or possibly Dale Gribble) vote.

Dale seems like a natural for Trump.  So does Bill.  Hank's passion for propane and hatred for (char)coal would be a deal breaker.

LuAnne would be a diehard Jill Stein supporter. She was for Robert Parigi, the Communist Party candidate when Uncle Hank took her to the county fair to register to vote.

I think Cotton Hill would be a strong Trump supporter. Hank's wife, not so much.

So in other words, the things that are supposedly motivating them the most are things that disproportionately don't impact them. Why can't they just admit that they can't stand the darkies, instead of dressing it up in all of this faux outrage?
