I heard she took a lot of classes in Marxism during her MBA program at Kellogg.

She's a great example for the left to build on. Liberals of her sort are hard to find in representation these days, especially with the Dems pushing ever towards the center. Gives me a twinkle of hope in a brutal current reality. FF.

This...is simply not true. In the past many years that'd be an accurate statement but the present is a time where a self described socialist won over 40% of the vote in a Presidential primary and whose people were most responsible for drafting the Democratic platform.

meh, she's just a liberal talking-point machine.  Given how left-wing Seattle is, they could have done a lot worse for replacing Jim McDermott (I'm sure Kshama Sawant wanted it)

FF, and not a literal socialist. Would vote for her if I was still in the 7th District in November (I'll be in the 2nd).

If you want a literal socialist from Seattle, there's always City Councilmember Kshama Sawant.

If you want a literal socialist from Seattle, there's always City Councilmember Kshama Sawant.

She's the worst.  Kshama Sawant in a nutshell:
Everything poor people want should be free
Millionaires should be taxed at an insanely high rate within Seattle to pay for it
Boeing, Amazon, Microsoft, and all our other major corporations should be nationalized
Boeing HQ should be dismantled and made to make buses for public transit instead
Any nice houses owned by rich people should be taken from them by the city because if they're so nice then they should be public property
Refusing to pay student debt is civil disobedience just like Gandhi
But most of all, we need a revolution!!!  Also I love anarchists and Leon Trotsky.

Of course the Stranger crowd in Seattle loves her to death.

Honestly, I like either of the WA-7 candidates; Walkinshaw or Jayapal. I recognize that both will be backbenchers, but at least they'll be able to articulate left-wing views in the House.
