Whether you like vaping or not, a whole set of small businesses are going to be crushed by these rules along with the manufactures who can't alter or improve their products.

Yeah because people going back to blowing cigarette smoke in your face is better than vapor and eliminating a whole job sector.

So an industry is lagging because they can't make products that are safe for people.  Maybe the industry shouldn't exist in that form then.

Because replacing one addiction with another to skirt existing laws is "innovation". (occasional smoker)

Terrible news!

While I agree that there need to be standards in the manufacturing process (for instance, moving to eliminate diacetyl from all products), these steps all but ensure that the variations/flavors available will dry up and that only the existing Big Tobacco companies with their shitty, overpriced liquids (which often just consist of "tobacco" and "menthol", largely to keep people accustomed to the flavors of their more popular, analog offerings) will remain viable.

They can't even release an updated "safer" product from what I understand.  They are locked into what's available on the market as of today.

I'm more, as a non-smoker, enjoying the benefits of vaping as not inhaling nasty cigarette fumes vs vapor when in the company of smokers.

I'll admit, I sometimes take a few rips from one of my housemates' "vapes", but only on occasion. As a demographic, they are a blight.

Eh, I'd hardly call vaping an innovative part of the tobacco sector. While I think these regulations are too restrictive, I can understand why some is needed.

The idea that vaping is "safer" is at best, an unproven theory.

These new regulations are due to the e-cigs blowing up in people's pockets.

Shocked to see so many left-of-center people being pawns of Big Tobacco. This is a bad move by FDA.

I really have nothing against E-Cigs since they got my mum off a serious smoking addiction.
