Incumbents aren't required to debate their primary challengers and most definitely don't.

DWS losing would be amazing, but unlikely.

Canova's fundraising is very solid.

It would be amusing but no. Bernie lost badly in 22 and Broward.

Wait, DWS's district is FL-23. Someone should change the title of the thread.

Whoops, well it still is true. Bernie got slaughtered every where but the panhandle.

He got slaughtered in the panhandle as well, despite winning a handful of low population counties.

DWS is seriously terrible at working the media. She constantly gaffes and/or repeats her talking points endlessly like a robot. What is with robotic South Floridians?

I don't think she's been as bad as a chair as everyone pretends (it's not like people blame Kaine for 2010, so why should she get blamed for 2014?) but she has been quite mediocre. I wouldn't shed many tears if she lost her primary, but I highly doubt it happens. Luckily she'll be replaced as DNC chair regardless.

Kaine left as chair almost immediately after the 2010 disaster (yeah, his senate run was the "official reason", but still). DWS has stuck around. She says she won't be the chair in 2020 - who cares? Doesn't mean she won't stick around through the 2018 elections and cause another disaster. Another 9 seat republican senate gain coming up.

Honestly, if only one thing ever came out of the Sanders campaign, I'd want it to be the defeat of DWS.

I kind of doubt who the DNC/RNC chairs are has any more than a 0.01% impact on election results overall. After all, Michael Steele was widely seen as a failure and incompetent RNC chair, and that didn't stop Republicans from dominating 2010.

True. Ask most people who runs the Democratic Party, and they'll usually say Obama/Clinton, or Nancy Pelosi/Harry Reid.

I think the problem people have with DWS is her being to the right of the party she chairs (Opposed to marijuana, even for medical purposes, vehemently pro-Israel, ect.), and being seemingly terrible at recruitment. The rumors of her attempting to smear Dems who would like to see her removed (Including the President!), and her actively sabotaging attempts to take FL-27 because of her relationship with Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, also don't help.

Publicunofficial lays out a pretty good case for why most people hate her, and of course for those most concerned about election results, there's the case that the elections Debbie has been in charge of being mostly terrible for Democrats. Yet she doesn't resign leadership of the DNC like others have after a bad election year.

Kaine should have been fired in January 2010 after Martha Coakley's loss.  A competent DNC chair would have realized Coakley was in trouble in December 2009 and started running ads to finish Brown off.

I agree with IceSpear - I don't know why, on one hand people tout Tim Kaine as potential Veep material, while trashing DWS. They are both disastrous.

For the record, I've never liked Kaine either. It's just that he had the sense to resign.
