Which types of attacks would be more effective in the primary?

Left: "Trump's a racist, sexist, neo-Nazi bigot"

Right: "Trump is a liberal that supports abortion and letting men in the ladies' room"

In the primaries, the attacks from the right would do better. In the GE, the attacks would do better from the left.

Both have failed. If anything has worked it's been that he's too crass and unrefined, but that has only had very limited success because most people find his campaign persona refreshing (myself included),  although it probably has served to hurt him in states he was never strong in (Wisconsin, namely).

Racist, sexist, bigot, [cough] Nazi have failed miserably, and anyone capable of independent thought will not identify him as any of those. So, you run the risk by saying that stuff of trivializing what it means to be any of that. If someone does come along who is any of that, people will laugh and say, "Oh, they said that a hundred times before!"

By default, that Trump is some sort of throwback leftist would be the most effective. But, we've had two decades of economic decline that people feel, so the traditional arguments for Reagan economics have probably lost some luster.

Attacking Trump simply doesn't work. The only thing they can really do is try to coordinate efforts to get anti-Trump voters to vote for the right anti-Trump candidate.
