Every region in this country, will soon get to vote on whether or not to ratify the new Constitution for Atlasia. Every region that is, except for one, the South.

The Counter Movement of the Flying Squirrel Political Action Committee, has long fought to preserve the right of regions to maintain their own ratification processes and to administer them in the manner see as befitting said process. This was protected by the 17th Amendment to the Third Constitution.

The South made a choice in late 2014 to establish its legislature as the primary mode for the ratification of amendments to the Federal Constitution. In Nyman, I have fought to preserve their right to do so and blocked Federal measures that would have interferred with such. That said, it is our belief that the better choice for the region is to let the people of the region vote on these matters. Now, with such an important decision coming up, The South is now the only region that denys its citizens a direct vote on such a consequential matter.

Regardless of whether you agree with our mission or not, regardless of whether or not you may have supported this change at the time, we ask all citizens of the South to join together in support of restoring the people's voice in time for this critical decision, and therefore ask citizens of the South to please sign this petition to the South's Legislature to that end.

I'm obviously not a Southerner, but I encourage the people of that Region to support this effort. Democracy uber alles!

I agree with Senator Yankee that while the Legislature voting on amendments is a unique feature of the South and the right to exercise their legislative authority in this fashion is critical to the continued strength of regional governance, a proposal of this importance need must be decided in a vote by the full electorate of the South.
