Gore only lost the white female vote by 1 point, and since the south drags the Democratic number down considerably, it means he won them through most of the country. I don't doubt that Hillary can win back a lot of white women in swing states, but it could be negated by a further loss in white males.

The gender gap would have to be the widest it has ever been - by far - to make up any difference for Trump. If you proportion the undecided women based on the decided in the NBC/WSJ poll (which would give Clinton 56% of white females), then you come to the conclusion that Trump would have to win 75% of the white male vote to pull 59-60% of the overall white vote.

If we are onto this, surely Trumps' advisors would be prepping him to make some inroads into the female voting demographic.

It will be interesting to see how Trump campaigns from now on.

If he keeps throwing out lurid comments about the better sex, it will be salt in the wounds.

I would have hoped that his advisors are/were telling him that the best way to win a specific demographic is to not alienate them first then try to win them back later.
