Vice President Joe Biden wins the Democratic presidential nomination, and faces off against Speaker Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, who emerges as a compromise candidate at the Republican convention. Who wins this match-up? Discuss with maps.

After 8 years as Vice-President he goes the way of Al Gore.  I don't think the guy is electable and has too many gaffes like "stand up Chuck" or "put ya'll back in chains."  Plus he's an asshole. Ryan isn't the strongest candidate though so I have him at 296.

Vice President Joe Biden of Delaware/Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia-293 EV/50.5%
Speaker Paul Ryan of Wisconsin/Governor Bill Haslam of Tennessee-245 EV/45.2%
Others-2.5%

I think Biden would beat Ryan in a favorable time for the Democratic Party. The 3 debates would be very fierce.

Others: 2.5%

An incumbent Speaker does poorly.

Actually I change my mind, this map is exactly what would happen. I must have been a hack for giving the critical swing states of West Virginia and Montana to Ryan.

Disaster for the GOP. Anyone who watched the 2012 Vice Presidential debate would agree.

Your sarcasm doesn't help your case.

An incumbent, Tea Party/establishment "compromise" boring numbers-man Speaker v. a charismatic, fairly moderate, and extremely experienced Vice President.
