This looks like an awful poll.

This is the second poll in a row to only show McCain up a point.

However, a lot of that is probably bitter right wingers saying they won't vote for McCain when they really will. Still lean R.

I agree with this. I imagine McCain's support is only at 41% in this poll because a lot of far right conservatives don't like McCain and now say they won't support him. I fully expect McCain to win his primary, and when it comes down to him and Kirkpatrick in the general, conservatives will get over their dislike of McCain and vote for him anyways. In their eyes, he's the lesser of two evils.

With that said, however, I wouldn't discount Kirkpatrick. She's probably McCain's toughest opponent he's faced in recent years, and she has performed well in a district that leans Republican. She even won in 2014, a year that she should've lost. So while in the end I expect McCain to win reelection, it would be foolish for McCain (or anyone, for that matter) to take Kirkpatrick's challenge lightly. She's a formidable opponent.

I think with TRUMP as the nominee, McCain might seriously be in the danger zone.

Likely R at least. Polls seem to underestimate Republicans in AZ. Also, I don't see how McCain would be in that much trouble if Trump were the nominee. Trump would have a very hard time winning the election, but I wouldn't bet on him losing AZ...

If the map looks like 2012, and thats the ultimate goal of Dems, because OH or Va would be bellweather, not just CO, McCain can lose.
