Was Carly Fiorina an establishment candidate like Kasich, Bush, Rubio and Christie?

Yes, like Rubes after her she was given the Roger Ailes kiss of death - a phony polling surge caused by slavish media coverage for about two weeks.

Meh. I think she was more of a "novelty" candidate, like Ben Carson or maybe even a slightly more successful Buddy Roemer. She just got lucky by having a stellar-by-comparison performance in the first early debate, which catapulted her to more media attention in the primetime debates.

I'd describe her as an "establishment outsider" whereas someone like Cruz is a "non-establishment insider".

I put her in the non-establishment category when adding up establishment vs. non-establishment chances of getting the nomination, due to her gender and the fact that she had never held political office before. But she's probably the most tolerable to the establishment when compared to the rest of those in the final 12 I placed in that category (Santorum, Huckabee, Cruz, Carson, Trump, Paul).

She was one of the candidates who had appeal on paper to both the Republican establishment and the conservative activist base (like Scott Walker and Marco Rubio), but I would say that the campaign she ran was anti-establishment.

I would say she wasn't really an establishment candidate or a anti-establishment candidate, more of a joke candidate.

Rubio got slavish media coverage since April. They just stepped it up right before Iowa.

Of course she is. If Sneedy had won the senatorial election, nobody would pose such a question.

But she didn't, so she isn't establishment.

If I gave you my truly honest opinion of who I thought she was/is, I would be banned.
So I best not.

She was more of a novelty "I'm me" candidate. I don't think monied Republican interests really took her seriously.
