Um... no. Why exactly do you think the Mideast would want to trade Virginia for Puerto Rico? Go on - sell the idea to me.

All the tourism would help your economy.  Plus, it's an Island paradise! Smiley  Why (besides the map thing) wouldn't you want it?!  If I were Governor of the Mideast, I'd take that trade in a second, and I'm not just saying that because I want Virginia Wink

Sounds good.  You should keep it.

Yes you can keep it! Smiley

That's very nice of you, but I want you to have it Cheesy

But really, just for curiosity's sake (besides the map thing you already mentioned,) are there any other reasons why you wouldn't want Puerto Rico?

Aside from the geographical impracticalities, there's the issue of Puerto Rico having nothing in common with any of the Mideastern states.  The most frequent argument by the Southeast for taking Virginia is that it's "culturally and politically similar" to the rest of your region.  Well I'm applying this here too.  What exactly does a Hispanic Caribbean island have in common with, say, Wisconsin?  We have far more in common with Virginia.

Thanks.  As I said before, I was just curious; didn't mean any offense by my question.  I thought there might be another point besides that one.

I would, however, like to point out that I polled the four active Virginian voters, and two said that they approve of being moved to the Southeast, one is undecided, and one said he likes it where it is.

If it becomes a state, it would be more logical to merge the Dakotas or two small states.

Merging Delaware and Maryland would be a good idea.  Seriously, what has Delaware done?

Why do we need to merge states?  We could just have fifty-one.
