...when the race is called for either candidate?

In 2012, this is what the map looked like after OH (and thus the whole election) was called for Obama:

Obama: 275 EV
Romney: 203 EV
Undecided: 60 EV

My guess for 2016:

If the Republicans win (3:30 AM ET when VA is projected for the GOP):

If the Democrats win (1 AM ET when NV is projected for the Dems):

It would probably take a large margin of victory for the Democrat for Virginia to be called that early.

FOX News called the election when they called Iowa, not Ohio.

Why would you possibly assume Florida will be called before Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Colorado, and Nevada?

And if the Democrats win,  you really think Florida is going to be called before Colorado, Iowa, and Ohio??? Really?

These predictions seem reasonable, but for a more interesting map, here's what an insane Democratic victory would look like:

I think that's a pretty accurate map in terms of what a landslide Dem win/epic Rep disaster would look like. I might add Georgia to the map for the Dems, though.

It would probably end up voting Democratic in the end, yes.

Possibilities for very tight elections:

GOP Win:
Race called when PA called for President Rubio at 1:30 AM ET.  Clinton wins VA two days later:

DEM Win:
Race called at noon Wednesday when PA called for President Clinton:

We have to have an election first. We don't even know whose running.
