Surprisingly this is bigger then any of 2012s crazy Republican Debates. Also more then any 2008 Democratic debate.

One less Berniebot excuse for when he inevitably loses, I guess.

I wonder how many it would have gotten if it was on a Tuesday without any simultaneous major events.

One important note  is that you can't rely on the initially reported ratings for live network TV.  The first overnight ratings had only 6.7 million debate watchers, which was revised upward to 7.85 million then to over 8 million.  Because some of the debate wasn't in prime time on the West Coast, those viewers initially weren't included.  Whatever was shown on ABC in West Coast prime time was instead.  When properly adjusted to reflect those who watched outside of prime time, ratings went up.

The final ratings are much better than I expected for the Saturday before Christmas, when many people have better things to do than watch a debate.  It's still the lowest-rated main stage debate this cycle, though.

Atlas Sandernistas will always have other conspiracy theories and vague misogynist comments to fall back on when reality doesn't conform to their delusions.
