Donald Trump makes a good point. In order for Carson to now establish credibility, he has to convince people he tried to hit his mother over the head with a hammer/stabbed people. Kind of a weird situation.

Trump comes in at 2:30 mark in  the video.

It's going to be a bloodbath. Hopefully not literally, but you never know with Carson.

It will be very interesting to see how all of this is dealt with at the debate. FoxBusiness was already going to be very GOP friendly and after the CNBC debate I suspect they are even more wary of any 'gotcha' questions or any chance of being labeled liberal media attack dogs. And GOP crowds are not going to even like questions about Carson's past.

Remember four years ago the first debate after the Cain sexual misconduct accusations, watch how the crowd booed the moderator for even asking a question about it and how they went nuts when Cain just blamed the media.

I would not be surprised if FBN never even brought it up, which means Trump would have to somehow bring it up after some unrelated question.

And even if Carson was asked he would also pivot to blaming the media, which will probably get him big applause. Is Trump then going to jump in and attack? Trump is good at judging the mood of the room and I doubt he will do that or risk having the crowd turn on him.

If you watch the above linked video you will see after Cain was asked about the accusations, the moderator asked Romney if he would hire someone facing those issues and Romney said he was satisfied and the crowd applauded him.

I think, Fox being Fox, Fox Business actually has a better chance of confronting Carson than the other networks would because they're almost immune from the liberal media bias label and Roger Ailes obviously does not want Ben Carson to be the nominee of the Republican Party.

I don't think Trump is going to exploit this. It's better for him not to attack Carson on something as trivial and unsubstantiated as whether he got a scholarship or hit someone 50 years ago.

I think this is a good strategy for The Donald - Attacking Ben Carson for lies head on will make him seem a bit too bullyish, and it's too easy for Carson to pick Trump is accepting the lying media's narrative. Christians don't like weirdos, so The Donald can just say "Ben Carson? Nice guy, but he's kind of a weirdo, don't you think?" "Something very strange is going on here". We'll see how this works.
