The circumstances were very comparable. Post Party dissolution, and before Napoleon became President, the left was very weak.

Turnout was low across the board because the Party machines had collapsed and the right scored massive victories by running popular candidates and were thus able to deny the Laborites all but one seat. The libertarian block numbered large enough to elect Wormyguy in a low turnout election.
