Why is a primarily American forum voting for FPO? Seems inexplicable.

Why is that a surprise really ?

There are many right-wing Republicans on here, who probably think the ÖVP as too wishy-washy-conservative (or even too "left" for them). The FPÖ is a much better fit for these types of Republicans than the ÖVP.

It could also be that Americans are used to a two-party system and will naturally gravitate toward a party with a chance of actually winning. My views are clearly more in line with the ÖVP, but the Vienna ÖVP seems like it is pretty much irrelevant.

GFW, mostly because they seem most likely to piss off the FPÖ.

That's wrong.

GFW is the so-called "Turkish list", which attracts first and foremost voters of Turkish migration background. Turks are a core constituent of the SPÖ.

Which means a high share for GFW does not piss off the FPÖ, it in fact helps them (win the election).

I'll ask my family there whom I should root for, lol.
Well, I asked one of my family members. Apart from being an immigrant in Austria himself (from a culturally quite distinct country...), he is a mentsch and he said he would certainly vote for the FPÖ/Strache if he would be living in Vienna (they live in a suburb now), so some of my doubts have been taken away, though not all of them...

Meanwhile, the percentage of FPÖ votes in this poll (29,8%) is quite close to the percentage of Viennese that will vote for the FPÖ.
