The White House and Pentagon officials feel frustrated about the absence of consensus on Guantanamo issue. This is a black spot on American history, it`s a place of shame because of which the US is compared with Nazis. It should be closed and completely annihilated. Dot`t you think so?

For a classic, constitutional conservative, you sure don't give a f*k about the 5th amendment. Anyways Guantanamo is horrible, and an abuse of human right, it ought to be closed immediately and the US government should apologise about the heinous crimes committed there.

That's a really terrible idea, considering all the human rights abuses already happening there.

Yes, we're not using it to its full potential.

Waterboarding at Guantanamo Bay sounds pretty fun if you don't know what either of those things are.

I don't know why anyone is cheerleading Guantanamo when it's well-known that the US has tortured innocent people (even people that haven't actually been charged with anything) there. Rooting for its expansion seems to be giving up on human rights in order to stick a finger in the eyes of liberals and libertarians.

Yes. The national security establishment sucks. I really, really hope Obama can pull this out before his term ends.

I would be in favour of closing Gitmo.

Unless the U.S. closes the base (not at all likely, even if the prison is closed), not at all.

Hopefully Obama can manage this before his term is up.   I had given up on this, but it would be great if Obama can fulfill this promise.
