It can be a big screen film or a TV movie.

Only one I ever seen in a theater was W. with Josh Brolin. It was good but painted Bush Sr iffy. Made him look like a douche when I don't think he was that bad. The movie itself was made too early and had too much of a liberal side to it but it was fun though.

Oliver Stone's Nixon from 1995. Brilliant performance by Anthony Hopkins. Blew the doors off.

It's the best off the top my head, but it royally screwed up Pat Nixon.

Haven't watched Nixon yet I need to though.

Same director who did W. did Nixon so at least I know what to expect.

Nixon sure has a lot of less humor than W though. It's done as a straight drama/tragedy.

Both movies seem to put a lot of emphasis on the relationship with the parents and family as the root of the respective president's emotional and psychological "issues". Tongue

Depends if you consider Lincoln a biopic (though really, it isn't). Otherwise yeah, Nixon easily.

Young Mr. Lincoln (1939) was always a favorite of mine.

Nixon is all around the best film out there.  Lincoln is a amazing film, but that is more just a telling of how the 13th amendment was passed, nothing more.

Frost/Nixon, which is actually my favorite film. It also stars my two favorite actors, Frank Langella and Sam Rockwell. Damn good film, and Frank Langella (as always) was fantastic in the role. He really portrayed Nixon as a tragic figure, which was refreshing, given how he is almost always portrayed as some Machiavellian supervillain (but when they do it on Futurama, it's really is funny Tongue).

The same could be said about Stone's Nixon.

I came away liking Nixon more after watching that movie, though as noted, Pat Nixon's portrayal is entirely inaccurate.

Yes, it's pretty much the only one worth watching. Frost/Nixon, on the other hand, was another movie where Frank Langela gets praised for doing an impression without ever actually acting.
