Mistake. This is Gore 2000 strategy.

The people love Bill. He needs to be a face of the campaign. Obama used him as an attack dog. His wife should, too.

Yeah - Bill was a liability in 2008 because he was very rusty (Gore sidelined him in 2000, his heart side-lined him in 2004) ... the 2012 DNC speech showed that this guy can connect, go (massively) over-time and off-script and people still want to listen to him. The guy remains a rock-star and should be dispatched where necessary (but managed).

Bill's just being cute here. You know he can't wait to campaign.

The New York Times wrote about the early plans for his role last week:

Seems smart. She doesn't need him in the primaries; best to save him for the general (which will begin as soon as she's wrapped up IA and NH early next year).

Yeah, Bill might say whatever he wants but I doubt that he will resist the temptation to go out there and campaign. Especially during the general when he will have the chance to be mad at the Republican nominee.

She's going to win African-Americans and Latinos anyway, that all comes down to turnout. Why not court white voters?
