Is Macomb, MI the largest Gore-Bush county? Both margins were narrow (Gore 50.0-47.5 over Bush; Bush 50.2-48.7 over Kerry). Adjacent Oakland County, which is even larger, almost made the list; Kerry beat Bush 49.7-49.3%. Other than 2004, last time Oakland and Macomb voted differently was 1968, despite the historically vast partisan and demographic differences between the counties (which however are narrowing).
