I idolized him so much in high school, he was the subject of one of my art class masterpieces - circa Oct 2008. How times change. Still a FF on balance, but nowhere near my favorites. Still didn't fall as far as Rudy who is officially an HP.

A disingenuous prick and everything wrong with the Republican Party. Horrible Horrible Man with a bucket load of charisma. Makes Rick Santorum look like Mark Hatfield.

Almost definitely would support Hillary Clinton over someone who would absolutely wreck the country.

Why does Huck arouse so much hatred? What exactly did he do wrong?

Why does Huck arouse so much hatred? What exactly did he do wrong?

The cultural differences between him and the forum don't help. They turn a pretty moderate guy into an extremist based on a couple issues.

He's also not a moderate in the Moderate Hero sense, but in aggregate due to extreme positions that he seems uncompromising on.

Besides being the most disingenuous person in the Republican Party? (and yes, I'm including Ted Cruz) And if you don't believe me on that point, watch his dumb show, well, ever. He's always making some hypocritical, holier-than-tho stand that he KNOWS is stupid (you can tell).

Mike Hucakbee thinks we should re-write the constitution to fit the bible. He not only defended Todd Akin, but AGREED WITH HIM. He's considering leaving the Republican Party for even thinking that gays should have the same rights as straight people.

Most importantly, I think anyone who pushes their religion as a political tool is an utterly abominable person. Huckabee does this more than anyone, as a former pastor and such.

And the thing about it is, the thing that really enrages me about Mike Huckabee - He knows better. Huckabee is not a dumb guy in any sense of the word. Huckabee knows his audience, he serves them red meat. Which, I mean, that's politics. But he caters to the lowest common denominator of American Politics.

But looking at my PM score, you shouldn't be so surprised I do not like Mike Huckabee.

Also LOL at the concept of Mike Huckabee being a moderate. Smilo, you can't deny he's made HIMSELF an extremist purely for growing his market share.

You mean besides the fact that he named a rape apologist as head of the Arkansas Department of Health and called for an AIDS quarantine?  Well, there's also his disturbing take on Israel-Palestine ("no such thing as a Palestinian", and backing for what amounts to ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from the West Bank).

Okay, I didn't know about all those things, some of which are truly disgusting.
Nevertheless, I appreciate his moderate economic views and his stances on the FairTax Act.

^This basically. Huckabee basically went from being something of a more socially conservative and Republican version of Carter to just another tiresome hack.

Moderate economic views he will lie about to run for President, assuming he does that.

Polls show younger Republicans being more socially liberal on issues like drugs, abortion and gay marriage than their parents.  Younger Republicans seem to be much more fiscally conservative and socially moderate to liberal, the opposite of Mike Huckabee.

Kind of irrelevant to the thread, but I'm curious. How come you didn't vote for blue dog Michaud or moderate hero Cutler over teabagger LePage?

I don't think I've commented on whom I voted for in that election! Smiley

I ended up voting LePage because I wanted Maine to have a Republican governor.  As dumb as that sounds, I think it's better for the state for it to not be a solidly blue or red state.  I am certainly no LePage fan, but I don't really feel the other two are very genuine in their stated beliefs.

Option 2, unless Gary Johnson is on the ballot (which he will be, because Florida has pretty decent ballot access).

The 08 version of him was probably neutralish - I didn't agree with his views, but he did seem genuine and a nice guy. Now he's a clear HP.
