Orman mentioned working with other independent Senators to decide a party, maybe these two could work together to decide a party.  It would make a scenario in which they determine party control more likely, and make it more likely they can get significant concessions.

Good lord. America is going to be ruled by a triumvirate of Greg Orman, Larry Pressler and Angus King.

Given Angus King seems very focused on wanting to reform Senate rules, it would not surprise me one bit if he had the stones to ransom that he become Majority Leader and control of the Senate weighs on whether Reid or McConnell are willing to cede.

I honestly wouldn't even be mad if that's how the Democrats lose the Senate.

And if neither do?

I could see Pressler, Orman, and King convincing the Democrats to elect King as Majority Leader of the new Democrats and Independents caucus.

I don't see Pressler going for it, tbh.

Nothing I've seen from Pressler so far would indicate that he wouldn't caucus with the Democrats if elected.

Most likely the Democrats, but he could caucus with the GOP if they win the Senate.

With the Democrats, except maybe if the GOP has a 51 seats majority without him. Even in that case, he'll join the Democrats as soon as they regain a majority.

Senate needs 51 votes to elect a majority leader. They would go without one until an agreement is reached, which means nobody can appoint committee chairmen or set agenda until an agreement is reached.
