Let's suppose that on Election Day 2020, all of the following things occur:

-A Democrat is elected President.
-Mitch McConnell is reelected as Senator.
-Republicans retain control of the Senate.

In this scenario, do you think McConnell would stay on as Senate Majority Leader, or will that title be passed on to a different Senator?

I don't see why he wouldn't. If there's one thing he's spectacularly good at, it's serving as a frustrating opposition leader.

It would be incredibly surprising if he didn't stay on.

Probably.  I expect Mitch will be majority leader until the GOP loses the majority or he retires.

Hasn't the GOP a self imposed term-limit of six years? He's leader for over a decade, by 2021 would be year six as majority leader.

I hope the old turtle steps down or gets primaried, because he's been the most obstructionst senate leader in history. Maybe we can get more done with John Thune.

If he stays on and the above scenario comes true, I think he may block a successor for Ruth Bader Ginsburg the entire term of the next president.

This.

But I think 2020 will be his last reelection bid. If he wins in 2020, I think he'll retire in 2026, I'd be really surprised if he doesn't retire then.

He'll be a lifer unless someone successfully primaries him. Hope that happens in 2020 and the Democrats gain a trifecta.
