On a sliding Scale Of Religious Excellence where Thelema, Esoteric Hitlerism, and Santeria are on the top and Wicca is at the bottom.

Savitri Devi and her disciples. Superficially a Nazification of theosophy and the rather strange marriage of Hindu practices with an Ancient Aliens mythos, its occult intent was actually quite cosmopolitan - an expansion of the "Aryan" concept to cover basically the entire human species. (It's much less exclusionary than similar spaceman-came-down racial religions like the Nation Of Islam.)

I reject its metaphysics but admire its elitism.

What both organised religion, a great deal of esoterism and some strands of spiritualism have in common (and i'll get pounced on for this) is the overarching theme that 'humans can't'; that we can't have a moral compass or make a technological leap without something outside of us giving us either the resources or the permission to do so. I think is cheapens the shared human experience.

I agree with you. Which is why I favor the (however artificially-conceived it is) left-hand path, including (however commercially-exploited it is) LaVeyan Satanism.

Note that I am thoroughly atheistic and irreligious, but I believe religion and particularly the occult convey psychological truths. Everything is meaningful, just not always in the way we want it to be. David Ickes' Babylonian Brotherhood is an obvious fantasy, for example, but it conveys a certain emotional truth about contemporary society.

In my case those emotional truths tent to be best expressed by left-hand symbolism.

Einzige, taking up the long-dead banner of Épater la bourgeoisie.  Trying to get bile up through Nazi chic.  It says a lot about how desperate he is for attention that he's talking up the defense of Adolf Eichmann and Versailles revision and now ideas that Heinrich Himmler and pretty much no one else ever took seriously as points of debate.

By all means, talk about the superior metaphysics of the theology of a dull bourgeois failed chicken researcher who turned to the occult and his LARP-ish paramilitary group to liven a dull life and just happened to be in the right place at the right time to take over the SS.

Weren't you the same guy who once tried to insult Gustaf by calling him Luftwaffe Heinreich (sp), the Knight of der Sky?

EDIT:

By the way, Einzige, I'm calling you out.  Let's have a debate on the Political Debate board.  You can bring up any topic, whether the "unjust" extradition of Adolf Eichmann, the metaphysical merits of Esoteric Hitlerism, the falsity of the stabbed in the back myth (you never responded to my response in your thread), or the propriety of revision to the Treaty of Versailles.  Please, oh Wikintellectual of the 21st century, enlighten the entire forums with your brilliant ad hominem arguments and shock quotes to cover up the vapidity of your alleged philosophizing.
