The chief prosecutor in the case was quoted as stating that "Musharraf violated his military oath and entered politics" after declaring a state emergency and sacking several high ranking judges in 2007.
Moeed Yusuf, Director for South Asia Programs at The Washington Institute for Peace believes Musharraf will return to the exile he exited from in 2013, citing Musharraf's lawyers requests for the former President to see his ailing Mother, and the continued involvement of the Pakistani Military which he claims "Will not let Musharraf go down without a fight".
