There were rumors that she would try to somehow circumvent the term limits law.

This sounds like a great idea because besides vetoing the religious freedom bill (which btw every Republican candidate for Governor except Al Melvin supported a veto of), Brewer is just a terrible, terrible woman who would get pounced in the primary. Though something tells me she might go after McCain's seat now if he does retire in 2016. She's shown she loves her power.

Another potential candidate also seemingly declined in Steven Seagal, so there's that. I don't think a Benghazi conspiratist is much better than an old woman who loves her guns and hates her gays and immigrants, anyways.

Not surprised that Brewer is NOT running because if she did, she was likely to get her ass kicked.

Yeah I called this over a year ago, the supposed loophole that somehow apparently existed that would allow her to run for another term did not exist at all.

FWIW, Brewer also got the Medicaid expansion at pretty large political cost to herself.

Bacon King, Arizona needs to fix their strange term limits law.

If the AZ governor were to die or step down, the Secretary of State should be allowed to serve two full four year terms.

Had Arkansas passed a similar provision, Huckabee would have been term limited in 2002 instead of 2006.

I think the term limit law is quite clear:

"No member of the executive department after serving the maximum number of terms, which shall include any part of a term served, may serve in the same office until out of office for no less than one full term."

On gubernatorial term limits, I wish more states would do this, where you're ineligible for four years after leaving office, instead of the term limits in my state which are identical to the Presidency: two terms and then you're banned for life.

Lifetime term limits SUCK.

I personally prefer 12 years
