Pretty sure that he just wanted a payoff and that when he didn't get one, he accused the Grimes campaign of bribery.

Really, just mention 'allegations of bribery'. Voters forget the word 'allegations' and remember the word 'bribery'. It's been done before.

Marksberry has named his first name: a county party chair. There's someone else much more prominent, but Marksberry hasn't revealed their name yet.
