I often post from my phone, where all the fancy coding is very difficult.

That's worse.  If the poster doesn't care enough about his post to make it readable, why should the reader care at all?

Unless one is using it within a sentence how is http://www,google.com less readable than Google?

And by within, I mean within, not attached to the end of a sentence such as: "Here's the link: http://www,google.com"

A question of priority. Just pasting the link ensures there weren't be a problem, especially if you have the scrolling problem I have on these message (One of the minimal downsides of having yesterday, finally gotten back what I lost in January).

Generally I try to code the links though. Unless I have done a lot of it that particular day in the Atlasian Senate and feel like loosening up a bit.

Generally I have applied the standard that since this is message board, quality is not the highest priority.

Now in terms of quote boxes, that is just ridiculous and people should really get a clue. Tongue

They have failed to be inspired by my good example.  Tongue

Here is the Politico article. McCain's comment about the risk gay equality could morph into quotas I found particularly bizarre. We are going to have goals and timetables to hire gay people, and if you don't have enough, you get sued? Really? Has that happened in states that have gay anti-discrimination laws?  And since nobody knows how many gay folks are out there, and many are closeted, what would even be the benchmark one would measure against? McCain's record on gay issues has been pathetic. He's clueless. I also don't have much patience with religious liberty issues when it comes to workplace discrimination either.

Er, just why are mathematics and physics placed so far from "genius."  Is this meant to be a dig at Muon2?  Tongue

The placement of words relative to each other doesn't matter.  You just need to look at how correlated they are with the words "geek" and "nerd".  Here's the methodology:

So a quantitative genius is far more geeky than a non quantitative one (the former being both an uber geek and an uber nerd). Got it. Sort of like the Unibomber right? Who knew?

I think it is a [b ]very[u/] huge indicator of stupidity when someone has been here for so long yet cannot even use the simplest parts of forum code properly.

Anyway, with respect to the OP, I like to list the full URL, so people know what I'm linking to, and they can be confident that I'm not tricking them:

For links to stories, I usually just paste the link.  For links to people's accounts, Atlasia stuff, I usually code it.

I always quote the post to be sure of the URL. It would be easy for a bad site to appear.

I prefer you just post the URL.  "Coding" your posts seems unnecessary and I'm weary to click on a link that doesn't just tell me where I'm going.

You don't have proper PC security?

Maybe, but it would (probably) be the only sign of it.  I certainly don't check to make sure the oven's off/doors locked/etc a hundred times a day.
