Good.  I'm not happy about some of the activities that Russia (and Japan with respect to whaling) do, but Greenpeace and their ilk often go too far in their efforts to counter them.

I don't have a problem with charging with a crime, it seems that they deserve it, but I don't think piracy is really the proper charge.

Agreed, some form of trespassing charge is probably most appropriate.

I agree with the the previous comments.  Greenpeace is often stupid, but they probably don't deserve to spend 15 years in a Russian prison.

Good. Ecologists will be on our side and hopefully they will add to the pressure to isolate Russia and ban Russian officials from Western soil.

Ships of greenpeace have attacked Japanese fleets many times, but coward Japanese judiciary could never accused them.
It sounds plausible for russia to arrrest them.
